Making and Maturing Disciples Through Living, Teaching, and Experiencing the Love of Jesus

Vision

As a part of the DFW Metro Family of Churches, the mission of Arlington Central Church is to make disciples of Jesus. We will demonstrate His love to the members of our church, our neighbors, our local community of Arlington, Texas, and the broader DFW area. We will know God's love for ourselves through the teaching and reflective reading of scripture, and through the experience of prayer. Then, having come to know the love of God, because he first loved us, we will love our neighbor, and love one another. (1 John 4:19). We will teach others to do the same as they learn to obey every commandment of Jesus and walk in step with The Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-20). We will build and maintain a close-knit community within Arlington that is built around the love of Jesus, through small groups in which people are truly known and cared for. We will raise up leaders that will teach others the commands of Jesus through one-on-one discipling relationships. We will continually reach out to our neighbors in the workplace through relational evangelism, on college campuses through strategic partnership with local college ministries and pastors, and in our neighborhoods through service opportunities that seek the well-being of the communities we live in. We will make every effort to maintain the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3) and all people will know that we are disciples of Jesus, by the way that we love one another (John 13:34-35).

Statement of Faith

Our church is made up of people from a variety of Christian traditions, but we unite around our commitment to the Bible as God's word. We affirm the following core doctrines held in the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed:

  • We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

  • We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father. God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.

  • Who, for us and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became truly human.

  • For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, on the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures.

  • He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

  • We believe in one universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

You may have other remaining questions about different points of faith and belief. We welcome those questions, but we haven't tried to answer many of them here. We aim to navigate questions the way Jesus does: in relationships marked by conviction, grace, and discernment of each person's heart and story. As an intentionally small church, our leaders are easy to connect with. We'd be glad to explore your questions with you over a meal, coffee, or a walk.
